Una nuova ricerca* a cura di SPDR ETF®, la piattaforma di Exchange Traded Funds (ETF) di State Street Global Advisors (SSgA) conferma che gli investitori utilizzano principalmente gli ETF al fine di costruire un’esposizione tattica in alcuni mercati e asset class. Secondo questa ricerca, realizzata sondando 354 investitori, uno dei vantaggi più importanti per chi investe in ETF è poter accedere al mercato, accanto all’efficienza dei costi e alla liquidità.

Lo studio ha rilevato che poco più della metà (52,7%) di tutti gli intervistati utilizza gli ETF per ottenere un esposizione tattica a specifici mercati, mentre uno su cinque (21,1%) li utilizza come building blocks per la costruzione di strategie core/satellite e il 16,8% utilizza gli ETF come investimento primario.

La ricerca ha evidenziato che gli investitori più comunemente utilizzano gli ETF per accedere ai più ampi mercati azionari, delle materie prime ed emergenti. Il 75,7% e l’85,9% rispettivamente dei gestori di grandi patrimoni che investono in azioni e in materie prime si affidano agli ETF . Allo stesso modo, il 96,2% e il 90,1% rispettivamente dei gestori di fondi globali che investono in azioni e materie prime accedono a questi mercati attraverso gli ETF. Circa i due terzi (64,4%) dei gestori di fondi globali che investono nei mercati emergenti lo fanno attraverso gli ETF.

Il ruolo giocato dagli ETF nell’approccio tattico all’asset allocation è stato anche evidenziato dalle risposte degli intervistati per quanto riguarda i benefici più importanti dell’investire in ETF. Gli intervistati hanno identificato l’accesso al mercato come uno dei primi tre vantaggi quando si investe in ETF, insieme all’efficienza dei costi e alla liquidità.
